The short version: everything you do on this site stays in your browser. There is no account, no login, no server to send anything to, and nothing you type or key is transmitted anywhere. The one exception is the advertising, which is served by Google and which does set cookies — that part is described in full below.
What the site stores, and where
Morse Dojo keeps your settings and progress in localStorage, which is a store inside your own browser on your own device. It is never uploaded. Specifically:

You can export all of it, restore it, or delete it entirely from the Progress tab. Clearing your browser's site data removes it too — which also means your streak, so export a copy if you care about it.
The microphone
The decoder on the Tuner tab can listen to your microphone, to an audio file you choose, or to another browser tab you share with it. Your browser will ask permission first, every time, and it will not work at all unless you agree.
That audio is processed inside the page, in real time, and is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Nothing about it leaves your device. Closing the tab or pressing stop ends the capture immediately.
Advertising
This site is free and is paid for by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies and similar technologies to serve those adverts, including — where you have consented to it — adverts based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of personalisation by many other vendors at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices. Those are settings held by Google and by the advertising industry rather than by this site, and they apply wherever you go on the web, not only here.
To be clear about what those choices do: they change how adverts are chosen, not whether you see them. Declining consent, or opting out through any of the links above, means the adverts on this site are selected from the content of the page you are reading rather than from anything known about you. They do not disappear — the site is paid for by them, and there is no version of it without them.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set, through Google's certified consent tool. That tool holds your choice and provides its own way to revisit it; you can also clear this site's cookies in your browser, which will make it ask again on your next visit.
Google may also use cookies for measuring and limiting how often you see the same advert. None of this is under this site's control, and none of it has access to your practice data — that lives in localStorage, which advertising scripts cannot read.
What this site does not do
- No accounts, no passwords, no email addresses collected.
- No analytics of its own — no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No server-side logging by the site itself. It is static files.
- Nothing you type, key or record is transmitted anywhere.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone, because nothing is collected.
The static host serving these files will keep ordinary web-server logs, which typically include IP addresses and are retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention. That is normal for any website and is handled by the hosting provider under their own policy.
Children
Morse code is a popular thing for young people to learn, through Scouts and cadet groups among others. This site collects nothing from anybody, of any age. Advertising served here is configured as non-personalised for anyone Google identifies as a child.
Your rights
This site is run from Ireland and operates under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Under it you have rights of access, correction, erasure and portability over personal data held about you. This site holds none — your data is on your own device, and the Progress tab gives you export and delete buttons for it. For data held by Google in connection with advertising, use the Google links above.
The supervisory authority here is the Irish Data Protection Commission, which you are entitled to complain to. Visitors from the United Kingdom are covered by UK GDPR and may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office instead.
